Together, DLR and NRC Canada have conducted flight tests for the detection and evaluation of Pilot Induced Oscillations (PIOs). Certain pilot control inputs can cause a helicopter to oscillate in flight. DLR researchers have developed a method that provides information about the susceptibility of a helicopter to these oscillation effects.
