In South America, a decline of 50 to 60 percent for Buenos Aires and Sao Paolo and 20 to 30 percent for Guayaquil and Santiago de Chile is measurable. The above-mentioned weather-related fluctuations were reduced by establishing monthly averages. An adjustment of the weather influence by the combination of long-term satellite observations, in-situ measurements and model calculations described in the text was not carried out.
