Magnetic field measurements for position determination
The idea of using Earth’s magnetic field for orientation and navigation is at least as old as the compass. However, pinpointing a particular location by deriving the location-specific element of the data provided by a magnetic field sensor is a novel approach. The IMPACT project is investigating this innovative form of navigation.
