Retinal Diagnostics – identifying changes in the optic nerves
Among the technology tests that Matthias Maurer will carry out during his mission on the ISS is the technology transfer project 'Retinal Diagnostics'. In this project, mobile, AI-supported diagnostics to address issues related to the ocular health of astronauts are being developed based on the research of the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine in Cologne. The examinations are also significant for neurological emergency medicine on Earth.
