Colka terminal on the European Columbus module
Installed on the European Columbus module, the ColKa antenna sends its data to the EDRS-A communications satellite, which in turn forwards it to the ground station in Harwell in the United Kingdom. From there, the data is sent via the Interconnection Ground Subnetwork (IGS) to the Columbus Control Centre in Oberpfaffenhofen and vice versa. Data transmission rates of 50 Mbit/s are thus achieved.
