Hand-in-hand around the world
Inspiring young researchers is a top priority for Matthias Maurer’s Cosmic Kiss mission. The ‘Hand-in-hand around the world’ initiative exemplifies this aim. Over 1000 pupils participated in DLR’s interactive campaign for primary schools from and created self-portraits – the ‘class selfies’. When put together, the portraits form a human chain on a 10-metre-long textile strip. This photo shows Matthias Maurer preparing for the mission on Earth.
