EnMAP - the satellite
In addition to its spectral instrument, the German environmental satellite EnMAP consists of many other important components. Star and sun sensors as well as the magnetometers ensure the correct orientation and position of the satellite. S- and X-band antennas ensure data transmission from the Earth to the satellite and vice versa. GPS antennas provide the important location and time stamps to produce the scientific data.
