Asteroid Ryugu
Asteroid Ryugu, about a thousand metres in diameter, was discovered in 1999. It was chosen as the target of the Japanese asteroid mission Hayabusa2, which then observed the asteroid – a near-Earth body of the Apollo Group – at close range in 2018 and 2019. It collected two samples that reached Earth in 2020.
