In the SMiLE project (Services for People with Living Conditions and Restrictions; Servicerobotik für Menschen in Lebenssituationen mit Einschränkungen), concepts and applications are being developed to help both people with disabilities and those in need of care, with the aim of providing support in everyday life for people with disabilities and those in need of care. Different types of assistive devices are used in the project (from left to right): the HUG haptic assistive device, the Rollin' Justin robot and the EDAN wheelchair reader.
