280 kilo­me­tres of road are avail­able across the Low­er Sax­ony Test Field for the de­vel­op­ment and test­ing of au­to­mat­ed and net­worked ve­hi­cles. Com­mu­ni­ca­tion be­tween the in­fras­truc­ture and ve­hi­cles takes place via sen­sor sys­tems and cam­eras in­stalled across the en­tire site.
