'Hand in hand' around the world
Promoting young talent is at the top of Cosmic Kiss agenda. One campaign for schoolchildren is 'Hand in Hand around the World'. More than 1000 boys and girls took part in DLR's hands-on campaign for primary schools from the third grade upwards and painted themselves as 'class selfies'. Put together, they form a human chain on a 10-metre-long cloth strip, which Matthias Maurer will take with him to the ISS. The classes on the textile strip will receive their picture flown in space back for display and inspiration at school after the mission.
