Solar systems for heat, power and fuel generation
Solar systems for heat, power and fuel generation for a sustainable energy supply are the focus of the Institute of Solar Research. DLR scientists are developing technologies for solar-thermal power plants, in which special mirrors concentrate solar radiation onto a tube or the top of a tower, where they are used to increase the temperature of a heat-transferring medium. This high-temperature heat can be used as industrial process heat or to generate electricity.
