Whether for aerospace or automotive applications – extremely light and simultaneously very damage-resistant – components made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) are of great interest to industry. With the help of a state-of-the-art tape-laying machine, DLR researchers are looking into processes to automate the production of such structures and thus make them more efficient.
