The high-pressure combustion chamber test rig (HBK 1) will employ laser metrology techniques to research the interaction of airflow and combustion as well as the role that fuel spray has to play in the process The aim is to gain a better understanding of how pollutants are formed, and ultimately to accelerate the development of low-emission combustion chambers.
