Making Europe the most efficient and environment-friendly airspace in the world

In October 2023, more than 100 stakeholders from the air traffic management sector gathered at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) in Braunschweig to launch the revision of the European Air Traffic Management Master Plan. The ATM Master Plan is the central planning tool for the modernisation of air traffic management, which aims to make Europe the most efficient and environmentally friendly sky to fly in the world.

Using creative techniques and moderated by the DLR Institute of Flight Guidance, the Vision Workshop gathered ideas and initial inputs for updating the ATM Master Plan. This is also the start of the activities of several expert working groups, which will define central, Europe-wide goals on core topics of European aviation, such as reducing environmental impact and improving human-machine interaction, in the coming months.

The vision workshop was organised by the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking and DLR.
