View of the Aerodynamics Research Institute (AVA) in Göttingen in 1919. The AVA was the predecessor of the present-day German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR). At that time, it was part of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society, the forerunner of the Max Planck Society.
