20 August 2024: JUICE comes within 6807 kilometres of Earth
Images taken by the JANUS camera on JUICE during its flight over Earth will have resolutions ranging from 125 metres per pixel – albeit over the ocean – to 250 metres per pixel, due to the higher altitude of 6800 kilometres (at the point of closest approach). Parts of Madagascar, Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines and Hawaii will be recorded.
