Storm damage in the Chiemgau region
In summer 2021, a storm caused severe damage to the forests in Chiemgau north of Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, as the EO Wald map shows. The colour scale, from black (September 2017) to yellow (September 2024), marks the timing of respective canopy losses. In this case, the losses were detected simultaneously and can therefore be attributed to the storm event.
