Occator Crater on Ceres
Occator Crater on Ceres
The first part of this animation shows Occator Crater on the dwarf planet Ceres. The vertical scale has been expanded by a factor of 1.5 to better show the topography of the crater. In the second part, the viewer flies around Occator Crater, which is colour coded to indicate the elevation of the terrain. The difference in height between the lowest and highest points is 6000 metres. The lowest areas are shown in blue; the highest elevations are brown. The third part is a three-dimensional representation that should be viewed with red-blue glasses.
