PHAROS: System solution for catastrophe management
Three DLR-institutes collaborated in developing the multifunctional catastrophe management system PHAROS. Within the new system, situation information can be recorded, collected, processed and distributed integrally. PHAROS serves as a communication platform for the diverse emergency task force and can also be used to give warnings to the general public. During a controlled forest fire in Spain, the system proved its functionality.
