At the Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes, a test stand is being set up to investigate the direct reduction of iron oxide. With operating temperatures reaching up to 1400 degrees Celsius and the use of a flexible mixture of up to seven different gases, climate-neutral methods for future steel production are being explored.
