High-pressure Compressor (HPC)

The high-pressure compressor at the DLR Institute of Propulsion Technology in Göttingen is used as the drive system for the continuous operation of the Next Generation Turbine Test Facility (NG-Turb) and alternatively for the Straight Cascade Tunnel (EGG) in a closed circuit with dry air as the flow medium. The high-pressure compressor at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) enables the operation of turbine test rigs over a range of volumes and mass flows, at high pressure ratios and with high performance; it can only be operated in conjunction with the two test rigs mentioned above.
