Efficient energy storage for solar energy

In 2017 the world's largest so­lar ther­mal pow­er plant will be­come op­er­a­tional in the Span­ish town of Almería. The HY­DROSOL pow­er plant us­es so­lar en­er­gy to gen­er­ate hy­dro­gen, which has a high-en­er­gy den­si­ty and can be used for a myr­i­ad of ap­pli­ca­tions, such as fu­el cells. Platafor­ma So­lar de Almería is owned by the Span­ish re­search cen­tre CIEMAT.

In 2017 the world's largest solar thermal power plant will become operational in the Spanish town of Almería. The HYDROSOL power plant uses solar energy to generate hydrogen, which has a high-energy density and can be used for a myriad of applications, such as fuel cells. Plataforma Solar de Almería is owned by the Spanish research centre CIEMAT.
