Earth observation satellite Sentinel-5P launches on 13 October 2017

At 11.27 CEST on 13 Oc­to­ber 2017 the Eu­ro­pean Earth ob­ser­va­tion satel­lite Sen­tinel-5P was launched atop a Rock­ot launch­er from the Ple­set­sk Cos­mod­rome in north­ern Rus­sia. Sen­tinel-5P will be the first satel­lite in the Eu­ro­pean Coper­ni­cus Pro­gramme to mon­i­tor and record nox­ious trace gas­es in Earth's at­mo­sphere over a long pe­ri­od of time.

At 11.27 CEST on 13 October 2017 the European Earth observation satellite Sentinel-5P was launched atop a Rockot launcher from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northern Russia. Sentinel-5P will be the first satellite in the European Copernicus Programme to monitor and record noxious trace gases in Earth's atmosphere over a long period of time.
