At the end of August, three of our colleagues returned from the SmallSat Conference 2023 in Utah with a wealth of insights into current trends in industry and science. The event provided a comprehensive overview of the pragmatic applications of artificial intelligence in satellite operations and data analytics, representing a remarkable shift in approaches to space technology.
Presentations and discussions with industry experts highlighted advances in the areas of hardware, digital twins, launch capacities and satellite constellation management.
The main aim was to identify future research trends by highlighting gaps and tendencies within the current landscape. The conference provided a suitable environment for such analyses and potentially paved the way for innovative contributions in this field.
