Alexander Gerst in ATV-5
On 13 August 2014, one day after the docking, German ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst opened the hatch to ATV-5 'Georges Lemaître'. Here, 6555 kilograms of cargo were stowed – science experiments, food for the astronauts and supplies for the Space Station. Gradually, the astronauts will unload the cargo.
