DLR and international collaborators support young researchers in the field of space weather

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) organises the annual International Space Weather Camp in collaboration with international institutions from the United States and South Africa. The event is run by DLR_Campus, DLR's initiative for young researchers, in close collaboration with the DLR Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics in Neustrelitz.
This international educational initiative is aimed at students interested in space weather and its impact on modern technologies. Over the course of the several-week camp, participants gain a thorough grounding in the physical fundamentals of solar activity and geomagnetic storms, as well as their effects on communication, navigation and energy systems.
In addition to lectures by international experts, the programme includes hands-on projects – such as data analysis and the construction of technical systems for satellite reception. The camp offers a unique opportunity to deepen scientific knowledge, gain intercultural experience and network within a global research environment.
Supporting the next generation of scientists in future-looking fields such as space weather is an important part of DLR's education and research strategy.
