Expedition 1 mission patch
This original mission patch was emblazoned on the spacesuits of the Expedition 1 crew. It is a simplified depiction of the space station, showing the complete works planned for the ISS at that time. The names of the three pioneers - Yuri Gidzenko, Sergei Krikalev and William Shepherd - are immortalised beneath the space station.
