Germany's first research satellite AZUR
Germany's first research satellite, AZUR, was tested in the electromagnetic interference chamber of the German Aerospace Research Institute (Deutsche Versuchsanstalt für Luftfahrt und Raumfahrt; DVL) prior to its launch in 1969. The tests ensured the satellite's radio antennas were correctly aligned, enabling reliable communication with the space operations centre in Oberpfaffenhofen.
