It contains the on-board computer, the energy management system and all of the circuit boards (here in the form of engineering models) for controlling the scientific instruments. The eccentric arm of the uprighting and mobility mechanism can also be seen. It can rotate parallel to one of the side walls. The primary battery will later be mounted on the upper side of the electronics box.
