The digital terrain models generated from the stereo image channels of the HRSC camera system onboard ESA's Mars Express spacecraft can be used to create perspective views of the Martian landscape as if one were looking down on it from an aircraft. On the left, spot part of the layered deposits. On either side of those, smooth surfaces are visible. On the right of the image, note the frost-patterned ground with light and dark fan-shaped deposits.
