DEPA 2070 Conservative Fleet Scenario
This video presents the projected CO₂ emissions under the conservative development scenario of the DLR project DEPA 2070. Despite an almost doubling of flight volumes between 2019 and 2070, both DEPA 2070 scenarios – conservative and progressive – show a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions. This positive trend is primarily driven by technological advancements and a shift in the aviation energy mix. Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plays an important role in both scenarios and is, in particular, the key driver of CO₂ emissions reduction in the conservative scenario.
