SWI spectrometer and receiver assembly
The Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Göttingen is contributing the Submillimetre Wave Instrument (SWI) experiment to the JUICE mission. SWI will study the Galilean moons, the chemistry, meteorology and structure of Jupiter’s middle atmosphere, as well as atmospheric and magnetospheric coupling processes. The image shows SWI’s slewable antenna and receiver module.
