Traffic Tower

The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) DLR Air Transportation Systems in Berlin-Adlershof is developing a virtual traffic management centre in the form of the Traffic Tower. Whether monitoring traffic at major events or evaluating traffic control algorithms, the Traffic Tower supports the Institute's research through the virtual mapping and simulation of road traffic and traffic control systems using the SUMO traffic simulation software developed at DLR. The Traffic Tower is modelled on real traffic and control centres and is equipped with a wall screen, operator workstations and computer and server infrastructure.
