Technology Platform Decentralised Energies (TPDE)

The Technology Platform Decentralised Energies (TPDE) was created to test and further develop fuel- and load-flexible micro gas turbines for combined heat and power plants.

The infrastructural possibilities of the laboratory are also utilised for research work on aircraft engines.

The TPDE offers space for several micro gas turbines or complex test benches such as the Rolls Royce M250 engine. An extensive infrastructure is available throughout the laboratory: Fresh air can be drawn in from outside and preconditioned, hot combustion exhaust gases are guided outside via several chimneys, generated electrical power ranging from a few kW to several 100 kW can be fed into the site's energy supply and various gaseous fuels and a liquid fuel supply are available.

The research work ranges from investigating individual components, such as innovative burner systems, to analysing complete power plant and gas turbine systems, including all the necessary operating and control strategies.
