Each year, DLR sets a new, exciting challenge, inviting students to develop aircraft concepts through the DLR Design Challenge. These concepts should always be based on current topics and challenging questions in aviation. Students are expected to work through their concepts in detail, addressing both the technical and commercial aspects – including performance, costs and operations. To support them in this, teams receive guidance year after year from mentors based at the DLR's aviation institutes.
