Regular audits are carried out at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) to ensure the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the management systems of the institutes and facilities. Conducting audits in the institutes and facilities enables the continuous improvement of the quality level at DLR. The pooling of activities, the communication of best practice examples and the early identification of risks generate transparency and synergies as well as the pooling of resources. This leads to a common understanding of quality.
