Qualification

Qualification
Systematic qualification reduces costs and risks, improves the adaptation of hardware to requirements and minimises errors in research products.

DLR research and development projects must fulfil the direct project requirements and comply with a large number of relevant norms and standards. Due to the particularly high demands placed on hardware, materials and processes in the field of aerospace, the general framework with all relevant parameters must first be analysed on a subject-specific basis. In order to fulfil all requirements in terms of performance and quality, hardware, materials and processes must undergo project-specific or, even better, generic qualification.

The Qualification Coordinator advises and supports the respective project managers in the DLR institutes and facilities in drawing up the necessary qualification plans, taking into account applicable norms and standards.

Systematic and standardised qualification reduces costs and minimises risks in projects as well as errors in research products. The aim is to better adapt the hardware, consisting of EEE components or systems, to the needs of interested parties.
