Arrival and location

Train and bus

From Köln Hauptbahnhof (Cologne Central Station), take S-Bahn lines S12 or S19 towards 'Hennef/Au (Sieg)' or 'Siegburg' to the 'Porz-Wahn' S-Bahn station. The S19 line also stops at Flughafen Köln Bonn (Cologne Bonn Airport). Both lines run alternately every 20 minutes, meaning one train departs roughly every 10 minutes. From Porz-Wahn, take KVB bus 162 to its final stop: 'DLR'. The total journey time from Cologne Central Station is approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Alternatively, KVB/nextbike rental bikes are available from Porz-Wahn station. These can be parked directly in front of the DLR site at the designated KVB bike parking lot.

Bicycle

The site is easily accessible via bike paths along main roads and quiet side streets. Ample covered parking spaces, a central repair station and, soon, e-bike charging stations are available in front of the buildings. We recommend planning your route using your preferred navigation system: select 'German Aerospace Center/ESA' as your destination or select the destination manually on the map.

Taxi

At Cologne Central Station, you will find taxi stands at both exits. Please ask the driver to take you to 'Porz-Wahnheide, DLR'. The TAXI RUF Cologne phone number is +49 221 2882. The fare should be approximately 35 euro in smooth traffic.

Car

Coming from Frankfurt (A3) or Bonn (A59), follow the airport signs for 'Flughafen Köln/Bonn' (A59) and – before reaching the airport – take the exit 'Porz-Wahn/Wahnheide'. Then keep right and follow the signs for 'DLR'.

Coming from Cologne (A59) or from Oberhausen/Duesseldorf (A3), also follow the signs for 'Flughafen Köln/Bonn'. Continue past the 'Flughafen' interchange, then take the next exit for 'Porz-Wahn/Wahnheide', keep left, and follow the signs for 'DLR'.
