DLR site Dresden

At the Dresden site, researchers are working on the virtualisation of aircraft manufacturing in order to make the development of new aviation technologies faster, safer and more cost-efficient. This site brings together key expertise in software development for product virtualisation.

The Institute of Software Methods for Product Virtualization works closely with various DLR institutes and develops software methods and technologies for the representation and use of virtual products, for example for simulation-based certification.

Researchers are also developing programming and data models for the efficient use of hardware in high-performance computing (HPC), which are required for the institute's highly accurate simulation approaches. The institute also serves as DLR's HPC competence centre.

At the DLR_School_Lab TU Dresden, school pupils take part in hands-on learning about science and technology and gain authentic insights into exciting career paths.
