Antenna systems are needed to be able to communicate with spacecraft from Earth. With various antennas, DLR's Weilheim ground station is the link between Earth and the satellite.
From the ground station's control room, the site’s 40 employees can establish a connection with the satellite during a satellite overflight, exchange data with the spacecraft and continuously determine its trajectory. The satellite ground station is operated by DLR's German Space Operations Center.
