Cardiovascular system experiment
When transitioning from ‘normal’ gravity to microgravity, the distribution of blood in the human body suddenly changes. This experiment, being conducted by the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine in Cologne and the Hannover Medical School (Medizinische Hochschule Hannover; MHH), is designed to clarify the consequences of this change for the heart and aorta.
