Regional overview map of Siloe Patera and Arabia Terra
Arabia Terra is a geologically varied region north of the Martian equator, in the transition zone to the northern lowlands. It is characterised by numerous large, differently yet heavily eroded impact craters and traces of sediments that were deposited by the former presence of water. The 40 by 30 kilometre Siloe Patera crater could have been a supervolcano, whose massive eruptions might have influenced the wider surrounding region.
