Kupalo Crater on dwarf planet Ceres
The US Dawn orbiter acquired this image of Kupalo Crater on 21 December 2015 from an altitude of 385 kilometres. Kupalo has a diameter of 26 kilometres. Its interior is filled with material forming a flat plain within the crater rim. The crater itself is likely to be over two kilometres deep, although it is filled over halfway with fine material. This is why the rim of the crater rises only approximately 1000 metres above its interior.
