Great teamwork between Gerst and the METERON-SUPVIS robot Justin
This pair has seen some dicey situations. The German ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst controlled the humanoid robot METERON SUPVIS Justin by tablet PC from the ISS, with the robot stationed in the Mars Laboratory of the DLR Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics. The astronaut was able to interact intuitively with his robot colleague and successfully carry out complex tasks even in unpredictable situations. Among other things, the pair successfully changed a burning station module during the two-hour experiment.
