The newly developed radome can be seen at the front of the aircraft. This contains the radar sensor from HENSOLDT. Diehl’s electro-optical (EO) sensor system is positioned below the radome. The EO sensor contains high-resolution monochrome digital cameras that optically capture approaching objects. Data fusion between the optical and radar data results in the strengths of both technologies being combined to provide the best possible detection.
