Airbus Defence and Space is the industrial prime contractor for the European Data Relay System EDRS. Before being shipped, the satellite was put through its paces in April 2019 at Airbus' antenna test centre in Ottobrunn. The EDRS-C satellite platform is supplied by OHB System AG.
