Future vision of the National Test Centre at DLR's Cochstedt site
In the future, airborne mobility solutions in and between populated areas (urban air mobility) will pose numerous research questions for science and industry. Future activities at DLR's Cochstedt site will focus in detail on the four major challenges of uncrewed flight: Vehicle technology (incl. testing of demonstrators, drives, energy storage systems), flight guidance (incl. integration of UAS into civil airspace), regulation (incl. certification and licensing) and acceptance and impact research (especially with regard to noise, safety and environmental influences).
