The Sentinel-3 satellites not only observe the oceans and land surfaces, but also the extent of the ice sheets and processes in the atmosphere. The data provide information on global climate dynamics and are used as inputs for weather forecasting. The six new High Priority Candidate Missions (HPCM) are intended to make the Copernicus system even more powerful and expand its range of applications.
