The Einstein Elevator at Leibniz University Hannover allows up to 300 experiments to be carried out in microgravity conditions every day, for four seconds each time. As a specific example, the planned joint project INTENTAS (INTerferometry with ENTangled Atoms in Space), which will be conducted by the DLR Institute for Satellite Geodesy and Inertial Sensing, Leibniz University Hannover and its partner universities in Berlin, Darmstadt and Ulm, will study quantum effects in microgravity and apply them to robust and compact atomic sensors.
